Junior Network Administrator

Responsibilities include assisting the Lead Network Administrator in all phases of setting up, configuring, and supporting internal and/or external networks including servers, desktops & laptops. Duties also include helping to develop and maintain all systems, applications, security, and network configurations; troubleshooting network performance issues and recommending general improvements and upgrades.

Starting Salary: Negotiable

Requirements:

  • Ability to install, maintain and support multiple environments of Windows Server 2003 and the server hardware
  • Ability to install, maintain and support multiple environments of Windows XP/Vista and the workstation hardware
  • Experience with supporting Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Active Directory services and Citrix products
  • Experience with supporting Microsoft Office 2003/2007; ARCServe or other server back-up/recovery tool, Blackberry Enterprise Server; as well as Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience and understanding behind using software imaging products for server and workstation rollouts.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
  • Ability to install, maintain and support various network devices (switches, routers, hubs, firewalls)
  • Capacity and willingness to learn new technologies quickly
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex technical manuals and documentation
  • Prioritizing projects and workload to effectively deliver results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to document solutions thoroughly and quickly
  • Professional demeanor
  • Willingness to travel on occasion to install software at client locations
  • Abilty to perform helpdesk tasks to troubleshoot both workstation hardware and software products.
